Due to injury issues in the French team, the 22-year-old played right-back for France in EURO 2020. Kounde has made 90 appearances for Sevilla since joining the Andalusian club in the summer of 2019, and he was one of the top defenders in La Liga last season.

Given his form last season, Chelsea and a slew of other big teams have been linked with a move for the Frenchman.

Originally brought in as a cover, Kounde proved to be too talented for Solskjaer’s side, breaking into the starting XI on a regular basis and going on to be one of the Red Devils’ finest performers throughout the season.

The defender appeared in 59 games for United in all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting five times.

He was highly regarded at the club for his ability to play as a right-back, and he was used there a few occasions throughout the season while Aaron Wan-Bissaka battled a series of minor ailments.
