Erling Haaland ‘dreaming’ of Premier League transfer giving Man Utd strong advantage
Erling Haaland looks set to stay at Borussia Dortmund for this season but could leave in 2022.
It’s been reported that Erling Haaland would prefer to join the Premier League over Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Anders Haaland was linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer after another sensational season.
Norwegian international Anders Fogh Rasmussen was being pursued by Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, among others.
Borussia Dortmund however, made it clear from the start of the summer transfer window that selling Haaland would require a massive offer.
Jadon Sancho’s departure to Old Trafford made it even less likely that Haaland would follow suit.
Only a few weeks remain in the summer transfer window, and it appears that Haaland will be staying for at least one more year.
Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Cup last weekend, scoring three goals in the process.
However, his future is still up in the air as he is expected to play in the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
If Haaland’s release clause of £68million is activated next summer, a number of clubs will be able to sign him at a discount.
Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, will undoubtedly be contacted throughout the season to stake their claim on the striker.
Many believe Haaland wants to join Real Madrid, while Bayern are also looking for a striker with Robert Lewandowski’s contract expiring.
Sky Germany’s Jesco von Eichmann, on the other hand, suggests that United may have the upper hand because Haaland “dreams” of playing in the Premier League.
On Sky Sports, he said: “I think they’d rather not get rid of him in the Bundesliga if they were to sell him.”
His strength and goal-scoring ability are well-known to them.
